Vanessa and Marc chose to celebrate their wedding in Venice, just the two of them and their daughters — an intimate and beautifully secret day that no one else knew about. Preparations began at Palazzina Grassi, a stylish and artistic boutique hotel that perfectly matched the relaxed and modern feel of their celebration. From there, Vanessa travelled by gondola through the canals to Palazzo Cavalli, where Marc and their daughter were waiting for her. As there were no guests, I had the honour of being one of their wedding witnesses, while the guitarist who played during the ceremony acted as the second. Afterwards, they took a boat to San Clemente Palace Kempinski, a beautiful hotel set on its own private island overlooking the Venetian skyline. There, they enjoyed a quiet family picnic before we wandered through the gardens for some relaxed evening photos. It was a day full of warmth, intimacy, and emotion – simple, spontaneous, and completely their own.
